I was in San Juan today for doctor's appointments for both my wife and myself. I thought, why not stop by and say hello and pick up some Special Batch #8? I have been ordering online and having it delivered to our house. The problem is this limited batch wasn't available for delivery and I didn't find out until arriving at Ocean Lab there was no more available in the store. After buying a case of Hopdiver and Blonde Ale the lovely beertender in the store wanted to check downstairs for me just in case they might have some for me. To my surprise she came out with a 12 pack of Special Batch #8. As soon as I could get it cold I opened one and I have to say. I will do everything in my power to have this added to a regular production item. I love a good Belgian style beer, especially one up there in alcohol content. This one is spicy, delicious and a deceptive lack of an alcoholic burn despite the higher ABV. This Tripel Belgian Ale is one of the best I've had and I have had plenty. Thank you Ocean Lab and the sweet employee who made my day.

Loved the beer and the balance it has. That belgian style mixed with the guarapo was very interesting. As the beer got warmer, more flavors started coming out. Keep it up Ocean!!!

Very good experimental using the local sugar cane with real taste and smell of guarapo! Strong flavor with higher alcohol content! This batch #8 follows the legacy of the other ones I had been able to taste only #4 & #5, besides the regular batches (BOB, Mambo and HopDiver are favorites). Keep up that great quality and excellent work!

Interesting beer. Intense but delicious, very molasses like flavor profile or better yet like a true güarapo.
